Track Record of Success

TAI has been recognized as an international model for transforming education and training the next generation of social innovators. For this, it won multiple awards from Ashoka U for excellence. In 2016, the Cordes Foundation chose TAI for its Hall of Fame for innovative education.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching also recognized TAI as having developed the best curriculum for teaching social innovation and impact from over 200 courses and syllabi they reviewed.

TAI has created the curricula for many groundbreaking initiatives of other organizations, including:

* Work on Purpose, an award-winning curriculum for helping young people find meaning and purpose in their lives, which has reached more than 200 colleges and universities.

* Solutions U– This is a curriculum of hope and inspiration. Based on the groundbreaking work of David Bornstein (author of “How to Change the World,” the leading book on social entrepreneurship) and Tina Rosenberg (winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the MacArthur genius prize), it studies case studies of success – people who are making progress in solving the greatest challenges of the 21st century.

* The Unreasonable Group– This initiative started as a program of the Transformative Action Institute when some of its students began using the TAI curriculum to train entrepreneurs from all over the world. It now has become one of the world’s leading accelerators and incubators for successful social entrepreneurs. All told, the social innovators have raised more than $4.1 billion and have positively impacted more than 354 million people’s lives in 180 nations.

Ultimately, TAI is a clearinghouse of hope. This is an antidote to the doom, gloom, and despair we see in the news. TAI is in the business of helping young people find innovative solutions for the greatest challenges that they face. As TAI’s slogan says, "There is a better way!"
